Do you have the right information at your finger tips to grow your business?


Good Morning, one of the things I most love about our Power Groups is that people find their own solutions. So often we can give other people great advice and yet we seldom give ourselves the same great advice. Or we do and then ignore it. Our facilitation process allows you to get your own thinking clear, for you to advise yourself of the best action to take. The great thing is that when we take our own advise it is more likely to work. Often we give other people advice but it is based on our skills, ability and life experience. It is therefore not always as helpful to them as it would be us.

The funny thing is even though I know all this I still found myself chuckling when I realised I had not taken my own advice. You see I am wanting to promote the new part of the business. “Information at your finger tips” and yet when people attend The Listening Post to learn how to network at their best the first thing we do is work out who their ideal client is and where they would be. You see if you can’t describe them clearly to yourself, how will you be able to describe them to someone else and ask them to introduce you.

So here are the questions I asked myself and we use at the Listening Post you may find them useful and I would love to know more about your ideal clients too. You never know I may know them and could introduce you to them.

What kind of client is an ideal client for “information at your finger tips”? (you can insert a product or service of your own here)

Our client is someone who has a business that is growing and usually at an exciting rate.

They will need information about their business at their finger tips from availability to knowing the exact situation regarding cash flow.

Is there anything else about a client like that?

They will be aware that they want to know “stuff” and it is frustrating not being able to get the information as quickly as they would like to make decisions.

Where about is a client like that? ( really think where do you want to work not where you have been prepared to go for work up to now)

Is there anything else about that?

Yes we can do further if they are happy to pay for us to travel or they can come to us.

Does a client like that have a shape or size?

For us it is a business that started the beginning of the year probably as a one man band or partnership that now have up to 10 staff either employed or outsourced too.

Where could clients like that come from?

I would imagine our own clients recommending us, accountants who have clients who need more bespoke information than SAGE and the bolt on services don’t give them exactly what they want. A recent client had a quote for £14500 and we are able to build a system for under £5000.

Is there anything else about a client like that?

Yes they often don’t know what can be achieved through excel programming and are unaware just how much easier life would be.

When a client like that and networking groups what kind of networking group is that networking group?

I have just realised as I write this that I am very likely to meet those kinds of people through a number of my existing connections and networking groups.
