What needs to happen for it to be easy for your clients to recommend you?

One of the most fun and enjoyable ways to grow a business is, to do a great job and then look after your existing clients well so they bring their friends to you.

So how many of your clients come from referrals or recommendations?

Are you making it easy for them to know how to recommend you?

One of the things that can prevent a client recommending you is because you give the perception you are so busy, so remember the phrase is ” I am busy but never to busy I can’t help someone if you know they would benefit from my services”

Another thing that prevents referrals is that your client may have experienced one part of your business and they have used it for one particular reason and they don’t really want to tell anyone else they needed help.

What needs to happens for them to refer you then?

The top tip for today is ask them. I recently asked my clients and they said they would like a postcard or something that they could hand to the person after explaining it. Others said can we bring them to a session for free so that they can try it. Some said I would have to know that you would not pay me because I would feel bad if I was paid, I want to bring people to you because I like to help you and I want it to be right for them not because I can make money from it.

So the key is don’t assume they know how to describe what you do and don’t assume you know what motivates them. Ask them.

Here is a phrase I love when I am catching up with my clients to see how they are and if there is anything else I can do to help them. I then say where in my business I am currently looking for clients and would say, ” Can I ask your advice as a client that is happy with the service I provide, what do you think needs to happen for you to feel comfortable or for you to find it easy to recommend people to me?
