Earn More by Strengtening your customer relationship?

I wanted to share with you today the outcome of a recent meeting.  Step by Step Listening are keen to make the internet work for them. I use to have a belief that “I don’t do technology”  This belief was holding me and my business back. If I want to earn more and reach my existing and potential clients I knew I had to change this belief. My belief is now, that I can learn anything if I give myself time and get the right teacher.

 So I have closed my diary for the most of August. I have had a 2 week break with my family and the rest of the time has been dedicated to self learning and meeting with experts.

Last Friday I met with Marketing Experts Hoot Marketing a very new company with a huge amount of experience, as well as web  designer  Steve Wood from Scalar Enterprise and Graphic Designer Tricia Charles from Charles Design. Lots came from the meeting. What I want to share with you today is the importance of words. There are some highlighted questions throughout this article feel free to try them out and let us know what you notice.

 At Step by Step Listening we fully understand that for our clients to have confidence in us and to build rapport  fast and effectively then we must use the words and language of our clients. What we did not comprehend is the importance of the words we use. What these experts brought to the table were the other words to consider when marketing your business especially on line.

These are a summary of the words we recognise that we need to consider, feel free to share anymore you can think of

  1. Words, that describe the benefit of a company NOT the words that just describe the features.
  2. The right picture can say a thousand words.
  3. Google keywords will tell you the words those searching the internet use.
  4. Client testimonials will tell you the words they use to describe the benefits
  5. The words you are comfortable with to describe yourself, your company and your products.

So to write pages for our website, to write blogs, to have discussions on facebook or twitter we have to get a blend of all these words. The hardest part I found was finding the words that described the benefits of working with Step by Step Listening

I want to share  a bit of the session that really helped me. By these experts listening to me, and me listening to them we discovered a whole lot in 2 hours

What would Step by Step Listening like to have happen?

We would like to drive more traffic to our website, create a clear brand and generate more customers through our website

Is there anything else about clear brand?

We want for our products, pricing and our procedures to be transparent. We want our business clients to be able to model how we generate rapport, build relationships and ultimately grow as a company.

We also want to attract new clients to our website, blogs and facebook and for them to instantly recognise us.

What needs to happen for that to happen?

We need to tell them and show them what we do. This blog is our way of showing what we are doing. We need to keep the step by step logo.( still need to work out how to get that on the blog, that will be the next lesson)

I chatted for some time only to discover all my words were features e.g. we are professional, fun, flexible and we offer a simple and effective system to develop active listening skills.

Which is when, Niamh and Sue explained that I had to work out the benefits of my company and this is kind of how the conversation went.

When all that what kind of benefits do your clients get when doing business with you.?

They experience an extreme listening skill that allows them to listen more effectively to their customers/clients?(still a feature)

“Which means what?” said Niamh

Which means they can, really understand their client (still a feature)

“Which means what?” said Niamh

That they know specifically what the client needs and wants, they can use the clients own words and language and then provide them with the appropriate service. Match wants with products accurately. it also guarantees that rapport and trust are built quickly and effectively because the client feels heard and understood, the client feels important and valued. (still a feature)

That they can sell more and can exceed customer expectations(nearly a benefit)

that they get more business(benefit but is there only one)

they earn more money as a business; 1. from the existing customer staying loyal and 2. from referrals and recommendations

Businesses that work with step by step increase revenue and reduce marketing costs.

The next step is to find a picture that sums that up, have to confess not my strength so letting Tricia do that. This is my attempt; sorry could not work out how to up load the pictures in the blog that is now on the to do list of learning.

After some time typing this blog and keying many variations what I discovered was the kind of words people searched for and how many and where in the world. Using this information I can ensure that this article has as many of the key words for my business mentioned.
